I know I just wrote a post a couple weeks ago, but I had some things on my mind today that I thought I needed to say while they were on my mind.
First of all, we would like to thank all our customers from the bottom of our hearts. The number of you who personally thank us and tell us how much you appreciate what we are doing is overwhelming. For me personally, it is very humbling how many of you take the time to carry on a conversation and visit with us when you come to buy or pick up your purchases. It feels like so many of you have become almost family to us. As we continue to grow our business, I hope we can continue to thrive with the relationships we have built, and gain relationships with new customers.
Tying this in with what I wrote about last time, think about the way you shop. At businesses you frequent, do you know the people you are dealing with? If they are a small family owned business, do you tend to converse with them, do you know much about them personally, even if you only have a relationship through the business? Do you look forward to going there and shopping? How about when you go to a bigger retail store? Do you feel the connection with what you buy or who you are buying it from? Does your purchase make you happy? In some ways it amazes me, the number of you who seem thrilled when they buy our products, because I’m just a farmer, doing what I love. We appreciate the fact also that you are willing to pay a premium price. That is what tells me we are raising premium products.
Think about these things as you do your Christmas shopping this year. The way your purchase can help that small business owner and their family. The feeling that business owner gets when they know that what you purchased is going to make your loved ones Christmas special. I know not all the stuff on your Christmas lists are available locally, but if it is, please consider buying it from that local shopkeeper. That few extra bucks you spend there will go a lot farther there than at a big chain. You will most likely get a lot friendlier customer service too.
Lastly, we would like to give a special THANK YOU to all of you who purchased turkeys from our boys. They will put the money they made to good use. We all look forward to doing another group of them next year. We hope all of you and your loved ones enjoy them and can taste the difference in them and what you normally buy.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and GOD BLESS Phil
